Steer King Maintenance-Free Universal Tie Rods

From Steer King, the makers of the industry's best-selling no-ream King Pin Kits, comes the new standard in tie rods. The Steer King Maintenance-Free Universal Tie Rod delivers universal fit, unmatched durability, and a true maintenance-free design. They are shipping from ATRO's regional warehouse network.
At its core is a maintenance-free ball joint, the first in the market. A polymer bearing reduces friction, maintains preload, and eliminates greasing. The socket and dust boot cavity are factory lubricated, the polyurethane dust boot is sealed with water-tight clamping rings, and an induction-hardened stud provides maximum strength and durability under heavy loads.
Patent-pending installation technology helps technicians install and adjust faster, so they can service more trucks with less downtime. The patent-pending shipping protector doubles as a rapid length adjuster, a powered adjustment tool that sets tie rod length quickly. Patent-pending thread limit indicators give a quick visual guide to correct installation. Carriage bolts make clamping and torque faster and simpler, and cross-tube part numbers with clearly marked left and right sides make identification easy. An electrostatic coating adds corrosion resistance.
Two part numbers cover roughly 80% of installations. The Green Cap (SKT-0967-MF) is typical for 12,000 lb axles, and the Blue Cap (SKT-1080-MF) is typical for 16,000 and 20,000 lb axles. Both adjust from 57 3/8" to 73 7/8" center to center, and left and right ends are also sold separately. That is broad coverage from minimal shelf space.
The Universal Tie Rods Cross Reference Directory matches the Steer King line to part numbers from more than 40 OEM and aftermarket brands, including Freightliner, Kenworth, Mack, Navistar, Volvo, and Western Star. Cross-references are also searchable online and on each product detail page. The Universal Tie Rods Installation Instructions walk technicians through a correct install and are available in English, Spanish, and French.

An enhanced anti-friction pattern extends service life and reduces failure risk, and a rubber bumper provides better support when airing down.
ATRO Air Springs are also built to be easier to stock, sell, and install. Jam nuts and lock washers are included. Thread protectors keep installation clean, shrink-wrapped packaging extends shelf life and protects each spring in shipping, and multi-language labels simplify stocking, service, and sales.
The line covers 35 part numbers in three types: Rolling Lobe, Double Convoluted, and Triple Convoluted. Cataloging and cross-reference cover All Makes, including Firestone, Goodyear, and Continental part numbers. ATRO 2025 Grand Opening & Open House!

ATRO officially celebrated the Grand Opening of our new headquarters in St. Clair, Missouri. At the ribbon cutting, CEO Rich Ryan marked the moment alongside the Mayor of St. Clair, local and state representatives, our customers, and our team and their families.
Inside, our operations team showcased our new production facility built for scale, efficiency, and growth. This facility also serves as the central hub for our regional distribution network, supporting our global sales operations.
The event featured food trucks, a bounce house for the kids, guided tours, and a special highlight: a visit from Shawn Reed and his NHRA-winning SRR team and car, sponsored by ATRO Racing. They brought the race car inside our building, where Shawn signed hero cards and took time for photos with our guests, our team, and their families.
It was a special day in St. Clair, and we’re grateful to our team, customers, suppliers, community partners, stakeholders, and everyone who has helped make this moment possible.

Shawn Reed Racing Roars Back: Victory and Record at IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series
Darana Raceway, Hebron, OH, September 7, 2025
The IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series returned to Darana Raceway (formerly National Trail Raceway) in Hebron, Ohio for a high-power weekend showdown—and Shawn Reed Racing made it unforgettable.
After overcoming a serious crash in Seattle just weeks prior, Shawn Reed climbed back into the cockpit and absolutely dominated. In a final showdown against drag racing legend Larry Dixon, Reed blasted down the quarter-mile in a staggering 3.819 seconds at 327.75 mph, securing first place and a spot in the record books with the fastest speed of the weekend.
The Darana Raceway venue—steeped in drag racing history since its 1964 opening—hosted the adrenaline-fueled Outlaw Nitro Series featuring 12,000-horsepower Top Fuel dragsters and Funny Cars. The event drew top-tier competitors and streamed live on IHRA.TV and Speed Sport 1, heightening the stakes for all involved.
Reflecting on the win, Reed said, "That win was pretty epic for us. We won Bradenton at the beginning of the year, and it’s been a long road...including crashing in Seattle...so it’s a good job to Rob Wendland and the guys to get us down that right lane with a pretty good number too."
This victory—and record speed—marks a powerful comeback for the team. It demonstrates their resilience, technical mastery, and sheer determination to return stronger than ever. Congratulations to Shawn, Rob, and the entire crew for getting the car back to the track.

St. Clair, Missouri, March 21, 2025—Top Fuel racer Shawn Reed and his Reed Trucking & Excavating team are pleased to announce the addition of ATRO Parts as an associate-level sponsor, kicking off a four-race agreement that will see Reed fly the ATRO logo on the side of his 11,000-horsepower machine starting with this weekend’s NHRA Arizona Nationals near Phoenix.
